When you feel stuck
Sometimes the hardest part of fear is that you don’t even know what to do next. Your mind goes blank. The more you try to figure it out, the more trapped you feel.
Negativity follows you like mosquitoes in a swampy Ontario forest.
Rely on your Higher Power
There’s a reason they add a higher power into the 12 step program for Alcoholics Anonymous.
Prayer deactivates the amygdala, the part of the brain that triggers fight-or-flight responses. That means less anxiety, lowered stress, and smoother emotional regulation.
A daily 12-minute prayer or reflection session significantly impacts the cingulate cortex—a part of the brain responsible for managing emotions and empathy. It not only boosts your ability to regulate feelings but also softens harsh emotional responses like anger. It’s not just spiritual fluff—your brain changes.
Neuroscience studies show that believing in a higher power removes the fear of the outcome. It’s like handing a project over to someone; the moment the file is out of your hands, your nervous system immediately relaxes. That’s the sweet spot where intuition comes in.
Don’t worry if you are not a religious person. It’s not about religion, it’s about connecting to your higher self, your soul, where we all come from.
Accept yourself fully. And embrace what you find fun.
Do something fun
When your mind is blank, you don’t always need a breakthrough — sometimes you just need a laugh.
Fun snaps your brain out of survival mode and reminds you that you’re safe.
Why it works:
Fun triggers dopamine, which motivates you to take the next step.
Laughter lowers stress hormones like cortisol.
Joy creates new associations — you stop linking “life = pain” and start linking “life = possibility.”
Ideas for Fun Right Now:
Blast your favorite song and dance like nobody’s watching.
Watch a ridiculous comedy clip on YouTube.
Call that one friend who always makes you laugh.
Try something silly on purpose (draw with crayons, sing badly, bake cookies and don’t care if they flop).
Go play with your dog, your kid, or your inner child.
Here’s the truth: Fear shrinks when joy shows up. Confidence doesn’t always come from “thinking harder.” Sometimes it starts with giving yourself permission to play.
Breath
It might sound cliché. But breath is everything.
The vagus nerve goes from your brain to your ass! It hits every organ!
Those organs then travel to the spine to go the brain. It’s a full communication system.
Nerves are activated when moving your arms and legs, the messages also go up the spine, (they share the highway) thus affecting those organs through nerve and blood flow.
Breath and Exercise are your fastest ways out of negativity.
